The Shroud 05:41
Stars are fading behind a man-made sky, Yet we’re still craving for power over kin, until the day we feel complete. The anguish lies in wait, we bring this on ourselves and never realize Time is running out Red mist all around Time is running out Dismal sun in sight Forsaken by the light Is this what it all comes down to, heads buried deep in the sand in a futile attempt to escape this reality we crafted, oblivious to the poetic justice of our fate. Hiding behind the shadow of our sins, none of us wants to take the blame, even though we all walk this same path, maybe this is how it was supposed to end… Trapped inside of this empty shell, worn down, all the way to the bone. No more stars left to gaze unto, sunlight blurred into a shroud. We are the ones yet somehow we can never rest, We are the ones and we know this can never end well. We are the ones who can never feel whole, Keeping score like it’s just a game. We are all prisoners here and our time is running out, Helpless victims of ourselves, sole creators of our plight. Past the point of no return there can be no turning back, This rusty haze is all around, slowly creeping through the night…

The Burden 04:47
I need to get this burden off my mind, There's a thousand reasons why I should resign, But still, I can't seem to forget this dream of mine, The shivers down my spine. This! Maybe I'm just scared of what's to come, Or I'm just not the man I thought I was, But even then could I be satisfied… I…

Procreate, fulfill our destiny Medicate, live to tell the story Alleviate, the burden of empathy Meditate, over the fallen glory Isolate, let us forget compassion Dominate, the laws of our creation Annihilate, the source of our elation Recreate, let us rewrite the story… Cast away, we’re all just craving for better days But we’re so blind and so stuck in our ways that our only hope is to pray, Keep wishing it all away.
4.
Homeland torn and scarred By its offspring turning a blind eye, Diluting blame not to face reality, Fiending for new worlds Before we destroy the old one With our own reflection. Approaching event horizon, Light slowly redshifts from gravities, In endless fall we realize The ground is coming at us. A split second from extinction, Time stretched and dilated, Torn by the weight of our burden, We reach the eye of the storm. We are caught in a struggle, Enslaved to our emotions Urging us to move away From the darkness to the light. Is this just an illusion Urging us to move away to survive. This downfall brings us to reason, On a desperate search for answers. Fragile and blinded by the light, We try and grasp at this elusive last chance ! Is this just an illusion, Construct of our imagination, Urging us to move away From the darkness to the light. We all are on a mission To fill the hole left in our souls, Look for solace in the stars, Our only purpose in the dark.
